Reveal: Modern Ranch Renovation
Did you know that we take on full home renovations?! We are excited to reveal one of our most recent...The Modern Ranch! This ranch style home in the heart of Oklahoma City's Village community was completely gutted down to the studs and remodeled.
We worked with Chad Randall, owner of Centerpoint Construction, on this project. Chad brought us the project and asked for our help with the re-design and space planning of the kitchen and bathrooms. From this stemmed finish selections and full furnishings for the client. We will share the before and the after and everything in between...so let's dive in!
THE BEFORE:
The kitchen had a lot of wasted space, and there was a wall that separated the two living and dining spaces. The goal was to create a more open concept, provide more storage and utilize the space to its full potential making it functional for the homeowners.
On the exterior, the siding and soffits needed replacing, along with new paint and modernizing the front entry. As a surprise to his wife, the homeowner added a pergola to the back patio so they can enjoy outdoor living.
THE PROCESS:
We started off with drafting a new floor plan. It's always best to plan it out and make changes prior to starting any demo. Once we had our plan, demo began and the wall separating the dining and formal living was taken down to open up the space. Plumbing and electrical were reworked, new insulation and sheetrock went up and all trim and millwork were replaced throughout.
Rendering of exterior and patio add on.
Floor plan with new layout
We worked with NewCon Flooring for our finish selections. All tile is from Metro Surfaces.
THE AFTER:
This home turned out to be one of our favorites! The client trusted our design knowledge and let us take the reigns. The living spaces now feel more open and we better utilized the space in the kitchen and bathrooms. Wanting to create a true focal point for the living space, we used three elements on the fireplace. The shiplap was stained white to bring out a more natural/raw look, concrete was used on the hearth and herringbone tile for the surround. All countertops were sourced and fabricated from Natural Stone Design in Edmond, OK. Take a look at these after pics and let us know your favorite thing about this renovation!
When you are planning to do a renovation we hope you consider Dovetail Studio as your designer!
